Mini Chalkboard Labels in Restyled Home

Restyled Home featured the Chalkydoodles Mini Chalkboard Labels earlier in July on their cute and netsy blog. The Chalkydoodles shop was mentioned in thier “Take a Bow” Tuesdays.

Our Mini Chalkboard Labels are the perfect solution for organizing your home. I use them to label our toy & books baskets on our playroom, but there are tons other uses for them, too! Label your fruit & veggie bins, hat & coat hooks, shoe cubbies, pantry – and lots more!

Each Oval chalkcloth mini chalkboard label is double-sided with a layer of oilcloth on the back, a layer of oilcloth on the front and our signature Oval Chalk Block.

The labels are approximately 5×5 inches wide, and feature cute silver eyelets and tafetta gingham ribbon for hanging. Ribbon colors can be switched out to match your room decor or just to tickle your fancy!wipe thorougly with a damp cloth.


To make your labeling last longer, try using one of our Chalk Markers – looks like chalk, stays on longer! Little fingers or shoulder brushes can’t rub off the chalky lettering. When you’re ready to change your message, just wipe thorougly with a damp cloth.

BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS Gets Organized with Chalkydoodles!

Chalkydoodles was featured in the January 2009 issue of the BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS special publication STORAGE: Stay Organized All Year!

Naturally

I’ve been working with Jute this week, coming up with a new design for my chalkboard labels. I had a customer ask for a more natural look to go with the cowboy theme in her son’s room, so we came up with the idea of using 100% jute burlap as the material to border the chalkcloth.

Turns out, Jute is kind of a pain in the rear to cut, work with and sew. It’s a natural fiber, which is great for a variety of reasons, but it sure does shred a lot when you cut it. There are little “Jutelings” all over my house and the shredded tiny bits fly around and get stuck in my clothes while I sew. Itchy. But, I thought it looked kind of artsy all cut up in my trash bin.

Since all of the Chalkydoodles products are already re-usable, and therefore, a great choice for those interested in conserving natural resources, it seems like a natural fit to offer an organic material as one of our fabric options.
