Chalkydoodles began not too long ago at home in Dallas, Texas. With two small kiddos, a growing mess and a desperate desire to stay neat & organized - I had just a whim and a thought. Wouldn’t that work great if it were made with wipeable fabric? And what if you could write on it with chalk?
A cut, snip and a sew later the Chalkydoodles Chalky Spot™ Apron was born. Next came our Chalky Spot™ chalkboard labels, banners, totes and reversible chalkboard floor mats. Before I knew it, I was sewing all sorts of wipeable & erasable goods - tablecloths, placemats, picnic sets - you name it. The Chalkydoodles shop on Etsy.com was nice and busy!
In July 2009, Target.com offered the Chalkydoodles Oilcloth Picnic set in its Red Hot Shop. From there, things took off in a hurry, and haven't slowed down since! You've seen the Chalkydoodles line of products featured in a Better Homes & Gardens publication, Boho Magazine, PBS Kids Sprout for Parents with Cool Mom Picks, numerous design and mommy blogs, and most recently our Chalky Spot™ Jute Chalkboard Labels were featured on the Amy Atlas Events design blog.

Today, you can find many of my original Chalkydoodles designs here on Chalkydoodles.com as well as some of my favorite products from fellow artists and designers that I've found along the way.
I've had a ball creating a collection of home decor, clothing & accessories made up of products that I believe are unique, well-desiged and made to last. Our products are made mostly from wipeable fabrics and repurposed materials with a few of your favorite designer fabrics thrown in here and there. Our products are designed to be reusable, multi-purpose and easy care. Many of our products are handmade or made in small batches within the USA or Canada, and a growing number of our designers donate a portion of their proceeds to International charities.
From personalized vinyl wall decals that add instant decor to your home (and then come off when you want them to!) to upcycled fabric bins that add a softer, sustainable touch - you're sure to find something at Chalkydoodles that is fun, easy-care and just lovely, too!
As our concept continues to grow, so will our product offerings.
